Drawing Fundamentals

This class will introduce students to the basic fundamentals of drawing. We will discuss the essential drawing materials, how to prepare them, hold and use them. There will be an initial drawing test to asses the current skill level the student possesses. Students will be given exercises to train their eye to see with greater accuracy, their hands to become more nimble and their mind to focus more. These exercises will include but not limited to straight lines exercises, 2D linear shapes, boundaries and 3D linear geometric forms. They will also learn about the importance of light, value, contrast, tone, shading, edges, transitions, form, measurement and proportion. Having learned these set of drawing skills, the student will feel more confident when tackling more complex assignments.
