Still Life Painting

Still Life Painting:

Michael A. Cooley, Pepper and orange, 2014, Oil. This is a still life painting I didnt to encourage my self to paint something each week.

This class will introduce students to painting the still life in full color. This is a great arena for learning color, texture and creating the illusion of space. The student will set up the lighting and arrange a single or multiple object still life arrangement. Next is to draw the still life in pencil or charcoal, making sure to render the correct shapes, values and color relationships that you “see” in nature. This is crucial! The drawing will then be transfered to canvas. The student will then faithfully paint the still life the way he/she sees it.
