The Atelier Program offers art training in classical academic art. The academic curriculum consist of a drawing and painting program which takes 3 years to complete, depending on the progress of the student.
We are training artists to become professionals, so interested candidates must be serious about art and dedicated to the practice of daily study of realist art. Our vision is to help bring about change in the training of student artists in the practice of drawing and painting. We seek to elevate the perception of the artists by equipping student artists with theory and empirical skill to create highly refined works of art.

Our mission is to provide student artists with a thorough academic art education, pass on academic art tradition to the next generation and help elevate the perception and reputation of realist academic fine art.
Utilizing the time tested methods taught in the European ateliers and art academies of the 19th century, we equip our student artists with pertinent theoretical knowledge and practical skills to create inspirational highly refined works of art. We train the mind to fully engage, the eye to see with greater accuracy and the hand to work flawlessly on command with nimble dexterity. These elements working together in harmony helps to elevate the art which elevates the way the art is viewed, thus elevating its appreciation.
VI. Commitment Statement
We are committed to training students using time honored methods of drawing and painting derived from the 15th century Renaissance and enhanced in the 19th century European ateliers and art academies.
Curriculum
First Year: Intensive Drawing Program (pencil, carbon, charcoal, white chalk) Drawing fundamentals, Baruge copies, Master copies, Cast drawings, Block-ins, Figure drawing,
Composition, Perspective drawing and lectures-anatomical
Second Year: Painting I Program (Grisaille and Limited Color) Cast Painting, Color theory, Figure drawing/painting, Head study-drawing/painting, Master copies and lectures
Third Year: Painting II Program (Full Color), Figure drawing/painting, Portrait drawing/painting, Still life painting, Picture making and lectures
Fourth Year/Optional: Master Studies Drawing and Painting Program. The student working under the directors supervision completes (5 of each) – Figure(s) with fixtures, Portraits, Still lifes, Landscapes or 5 mural paintings telling a complete story (any of these can be commissions). The fourth year is optional for the student who desires further study.

Application Process: A class of 8 – 10 students are accepted each year for full-time study.
After reading about the full-time atelier program, interested candidates should go to the contact page and enter all pertinent information in each field. Make sure to type full-time application in subject field. In the message box, write a brief and clear paragraph of your interest in studying in our full-time atelier. Annual Tuition for Full-Time Core Students in the Atelier Program:
- Academic year from 9/6/2022 to 5/26/2023
- Tuition is $7,650.00 per year
- Tuition can be paid upfront, per semester or monthly
- Tuition include instruction, registration and cost of life model sessions
- A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required upon acceptance into the program
- Two 16 – 17 week semesters per year (6 semesters to complete the program)
- 30 hours of studio time per week/Monday – Friday, 9 am to 4 pm
- Accepting applications until 3/15/2023 for upcoming year, 9/5/2023
Annual Tuition for Half-Time Students in the Atelier Program:
- Academic year from 9/6/2022 to 5/26/2023
- Tuition is $5,400.00 per year
- Tuition can be paid upfront, per semester or monthly
- Half-time students must pay $100 monthly fee to work from the life model
- A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required upon acceptance into the program
- Two 16 – 17 week semesters per year (6 semesters to complete the program)
- 15 hours of studio time per week/Monday – Friday, 9 am – noon or 1 pm – 4 pm
- Accepting applications until 3/15/2022 for upcoming year, 9/5/2023
On-going Monthly Classes:
– 1 day a week/ 3 hrs. per session/ 3 studio hrs. per wk. ($175.00)
– 2 days a week/ 3 hrs. per session/ 6 studio hrs. per wk. ($285.00)
